There’s a big difference between reading history and listening to those who lived it.
“You can only put so much in a history book, and there’s nothing personal,” said Appleton’s Lloyd Dumke, who served in Vietnam as a member of the U.S. Army.
When providing that personal side, “the kids pay attention.”
